The truth about sugar

Our money where our mouths are!

We’re all having too much ‘free’ or added sugar in our diets. Our kids might seem fine on the outside, but too much sugar can lead to the build up of harmful fat on the inside that we can’t see. In the UK we consume an average of 15 teaspoons of sugar per day. That’s over twice the recommended daily limit for an adult to consume and three times the limit for children aged 4-6 years old!

Watch this BBC documentary ‘The Truth About Sugar’ and discover the dangers of too much sugar in our diets, but also how to cut down without too much effort.

4 volunteers take on a challenge to cut their sugar intake to 6 teaspoons a day – reducing their collective intake of 119 teaspoons a day to 24, with three of them also losing weight.

The programme also shows where sugars are hidden in food and why our brains make us crave sugar.
